In the final GOP debate before the March 1 “Super Tuesday” contest where 11 states will hold caucuses and primaries, Marco Rubio took frontrunner Donald Trump to task over immigration.

Rubio cited reports this week about Trump’s use of illegal immigrants to build Trump Tower in Manhattan. “200 demolition workers—nicknamed the Polish Brigade because of their home country—worked 12-hour shifts, seven days a week with no overtime to knock down the old Bonwit Teller building and make room for Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue in Manhattan,” The Daily Beast reported this week.

During Thursday’s GOP debate, Trump reiterated that he will build a wall with Mexico, and the Mexican government would pay for it. Trump’s remarks were made shortly after the Mexican president adamantly rejected the notion that his government would pay for such a thing.

Rubio took aim at the wall remark, saying that if Trump were to build a wall, he would use illegal immigrants to build it.

Following his majority win with Hispanic Republican voters in Nevada, Trump reiterated his popularity with the group, saying “I currently employ thousands of Hispanics… they’re incredible people, they’re incredible workers. They get it.”
